Automotive Sales Manager – Domestic Dealership

Compensation: $90,000–$160,000+ annually

An established, high-volume domestic automotive dealership in the Albuquerque area is looking for an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to join our leadership team.

We are looking for a manager who understands that strong results come from strong processes.

This position is for someone who can lead a sales team, manage the desk, develop people, control inventory, protect gross, drive customer satisfaction, and create consistent results month after month.

What You'll Own

Sales Performance

• 
  

  Drive new and pre-owned sales volume and gross profit



• 
  

  Set clear daily, weekly, and monthly expectations



• 
  

  Work deals effectively while protecting gross



• 
  

  Track performance and respond quickly when results fall behind



• 
  

  Help salespeople create opportunities instead of simply waiting for showroom traffic

Sales Process

• 
  

  Maintain a consistent sales process from initial contact through delivery



• 
  

  Ensure proper needs assessment, vehicle presentation, demonstration drives, write-ups, and manager involvement



• 
  

  Drive strong CRM usage and disciplined customer follow-up



• 
  

  Improve appointment setting, show rates, closing percentages, and unsold follow-up



• 
  

  Maintain urgency throughout the sales process

People & Leadership

• 
  

  Coach, train, and develop sales consultants



• 
  

  Hold productive daily sales meetings



• 
  

  Establish clear expectations and accountability



• 
  

  Recruit and help develop new salespeople



• 
  

  Build a competitive, professional, customer-focused culture

Inventory Management

• 
  

  Understand inventory aging, pricing, turn, and merchandising



• 
  

  Maintain proper new and used vehicle inventory controls



• 
  

  Identify aging and problem inventory before it becomes a larger problem



• 
  

  Work closely with dealership leadership on inventory strategy



• 
  

  Ensure vehicles are frontline-ready and properly represented online

Customer Experience & CSI

• 
  

  Take ownership of the customer experience



• 
  

  Maintain strong manufacturer CSI performance



• 
  

  Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally



• 
  

  Ensure deliveries and follow-up support long-term customer retention

What We're Looking For

• 
  

  Proven automotive sales management experience



• 
  

  Domestic franchise experience strongly preferred



• 
  

  Strong desking and deal-structuring skills



• 
  

  Demonstrated ability to produce both volume and gross



• 
  

  Strong understanding of CRM and dealership sales processes



• 
  

  Experience managing new and used vehicle inventory



• 
  

  Strong CSI/customer satisfaction track record



• 
  

  Ability to coach and hold a sales team accountable



• 
  

  Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven dealership

We are not looking for someone to simply cover the desk.

We are looking for a sales leader who understands the business, develops people, follows process, manages the details, and produces results.

Compensation

Expected annual compensation: $90,000–$160,000+

Compensation is performance-based and will depend on experience, responsibilities, and dealership results.
