About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to provide executive-level leadership and strategic guidance for its human resources operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive HR strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and long-term priorities. This includes leading workforce planning, talent acquisition, and retention, as well as fostering a workplace culture of equity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The role also involves overseeing HR operations, modernizing systems and processes, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The VP of HR will serve as a trusted advisor to the President, executive team, and Board of Trustees on all HR-related matters and may expand to include executive oversight of legal and finance areas in the future. Applicants for the Vice President of Human Resources position at the company should have a Master's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a minimum of 5-10 years' of management experience in HR within a complex public sector organization. A Juris Doctor or industry-recognized HR certification is desired. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public sector HR administration, including knowledge of employment laws, collective bargaining, and HRIS. They should possess excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage through both proactive and adversarial labor relations. Experience in a senior HR role within a public higher education institution and a commitment to diversity and inclusion are also important.
