Director of Business Development

About Proseer Proseer is a modern, fully remote accounting firm built for ambitious business owners. We serve companies with $5–50M in revenue who have outgrown their bookkeepers and need a partner — not a vendor. We deliver outsourced accounting, tax, and fractional CFO services through a US‑Philippines team, a modern tech stack, and a concierge‑level client experience that makes traditional firms feel slow and outdated. We’re growing — and we’re growing the way we want: with the right clients, the right team, and the right culture. We don’t chase revenue. We build relationships. The Role We’re hiring our first dedicated Director of Business Development to lead new client acquisition. This is a full‑cycle role — you’ll own the relationship from first conversation to signed engagement, working alongside our co‑founders and service line leaders to bring in business owners who are a fit for what we do. You won’t be cold‑calling from a list (we have software for that). You’ll be doing what you do best: working your network, building new relationships, showing up at the right rooms, running great discovery conversations, and closing deals. This is a high‑trust, high‑ownership role. You’ll have real influence on vertical strategy, partnership development, and how Proseer goes to market over the next several years. What You’ll Do Own the full sales cycle from first touch through signed engagement letter, with a focus on business owners and managing partners at companies with $10–50M in revenue. Build and deepen relationships in our priority verticals — professional services (especially law firms) and real estate/construction — through outreach, events, referrals, and centers of influence. Activate your existing book of relationships from PEO, benefits, insurance, banking, or adjacent SMB‑focused sales backgrounds to generate pipeline from day one. Run discovery and scoping conversations that genuinely qualify fit — we’d rather pass on a prospect than absorb a bad one. Partner with our service line leaders (CAS, Tax, CFO) on scoping, pricing, and proposal development. Manage your pipeline in Pipedrive with discipline and forecast accuracy. Represent Proseer at industry events, bar association meetings, real estate associations, and other places our buyers actually spend time. Build a referral engine with accountants, attorneys, bankers, wealth advisors, and other professional services COIs. Provide market feedback to leadership on positioning, pricing, and service offering gaps. Who You Are 5+ years selling into the SMB / lower middle market ($5–50M revenue businesses), with a documented track record of hitting or exceeding quota. Background in sales (PEO, employee benefits, commercial insurance, business banking, wealth management, payroll, or another relationship‑led B2B services category). An existing network you can activate — references, COIs, past clients, and warm relationships in the target market. Comfort with a 60–120 day sales cycle and consultative discovery (no spray‑and‑pray sellers). Strong written and verbal communication — you sound like a real person, not a sales script. Self‑direction — you’re remote, you’re senior, and you don’t need someone telling you what to do every Monday morning. CRM hygiene — Pipedrive experience preferred, any modern CRM acceptable. South Florida‑based, with the ability to travel within the state for in‑person meetings and events. Why Proseer Founder‑led, well‑capitalized firm with strong unit economics and a clear growth plan.
