Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk plays a vital role at Godwin's Gatorland, Inc. ensuring all vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payment obligations are recorded and processed timely and accurately.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Receive and process vendor invoices, reviewing for accuracy, proper department approval, and the correct general ledger coding.
• Record invoices into the accounting system at time of receipt.
• Ensure timely payment of invoices based on the company policy and vendor terms.
• Maintain and update vendor records, W-9 forms, and other related tax documents.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs and ACH payments.
• Assist in month-end close processes including month-end accruals.
• Prepare and process 1099-MISC/1099-NEC annually.
• Monitor the accounts payable aging reports, following up on outstanding checks or vendor credits.
• Routinely file invoices and manage the year-end document storage process for the accounting department.
• Resolve vendor inquires and/or disputes.
• Perform other duties, as needed, requested by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• 1-2 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel); experience with Acumatica is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
