International Lending Transactor – Job Overview Morgan Stanley is looking for an International Lending Transactor (ILT) to advise on large and complex securities-based lending transactions for high and ultra high‑net‑worth clients within the Wealth Management group. Responsibilities Work closely with Private Bankers and Risk to execute and close securities‑based loans, including margin and bank loans, for HNW and UHNW clients. Proactively manage the securities‑based lending underwriting pipeline and workflow to ensure service levels and production targets are met. Manage workflow and monitor daily productivity, ensuring proper controls and procedures are documented, maintained and followed. Prepare and issue senior management reports on sophisticated liquidity analyses of securities-based loans. Recommend enhancements to credit policy to meet business needs. Establish a reputation of execution and excellence, gaining the confidence of firm partners. Develop and present creative solutions, advise on structuring client transactions and offer constructive alternatives. Understand the competitive environment and develop strategies to retain and win new business. Organize, manage, control and evaluate standards and controls necessary for timely and accurate execution of decisions. Work with Private Bankers, Financial Advisors and clients’ inner circles to advance loan requests. Provide subject‑matter expertise to execute and close securities-based loans for non‑resident HNW and UHNW clients. Collaborate with Sales, Risk, Legal, Operations and other partners to provide private banking products to clients. Develop and negotiate structuring recommendations within the firm’s credit policy and philosophy. Act as an SME in support of internal clients, performing independent analyses of client financial information for securities collateral. Assist in developing long-term product and service roadmaps for marketplace differentiation and new revenue. Manage exception pricing approval for securities-based lending products per pricing exception guidelines. Cover all securities-based lending requests for non-resident clients, including single/concentrated stock, restricted stock, etc. Identify gaps in customer experience, translate them to actionable projects and deliver enhancements. Build product awareness and understanding among Financial Advisors, Field Management and Private Bankers. Additional responsibilities as required by management. Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of securities-based lending experience. Private Bank experience preferred. Formal credit training preferred. BA or BS required; MBA or JD preferred. Skills & Abilities Creative and thoughtful solutions in framing private banking transactions. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task and manage expectations. Results-oriented, with a track record of delivering impactful results in a dynamic client‑centric environment. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with sophisticated clients, financial advisors, and senior stakeholders. Thorough understanding of the organization’s strategic objectives and capabilities. Ability to communicate complex ideas and issues clearly and concisely. Detail orientation with strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to drive and support change management. Compensation Expected base pay can range from $85,000 to $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses and sponsored benefit programs.
