Purpose: \t
The Benefits Coordinator supports the Benefits Specialist in the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs and assists employees with benefit-related questions and processes. This entry-level role provides administrative and customer service support to the Benefits team while gaining hands-on experience in employee benefits, HR systems, and compliance processes.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and enjoys helping support the benefits team and employees navigate benefit programs and HR processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Benefits Administration Support
•\tAssist with employee benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
•\tSupport new hire onboarding and benefits orientation
•\tHelp maintain accurate employee benefit records and files
•\tAssist with open enrollment preparation and communications
•\tProcess benefit forms and supporting documentation
Employee Support
•\tRespond to basic employee questions regarding benefits and eligibility
•\tDirect employees to appropriate resources, carriers, or HR team members
•\tProvide excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality
•\tAssist employees with completing enrollment forms and required paperwork
Administrative Duties
•\tEnter and update employee information in HR and benefits systems
•\tAssist with benefit audits and reconciliation tasks
•\tSupport payroll deduction verification processes
•\tPrepare reports, spreadsheets, as needed
Vendor & Team Coordination
•\tCommunicate with insurance carriers and vendors regarding routine requests
•\tAssist Benefits team with special projects and administrative support
•\tHelp coordinate employee communications and benefit notices
•\tMonitor ongoing reports to ensure accuracy, eligibility and follow up coordination information
Qualifications
Required
•\tHigh school diploma or equivalent
•\tStrong organizational and communication skills
•\tBasic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
•\tStrong attention to detail and accuracy
•\tAbility to handle confidential information professionally
•\tPositive attitude and willingness to learn
Preferred
•\tAssociate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
•\tInternship, administrative, customer service, or office experience
•\tInterest in Human Resources or employee benefits
Technical Skills
•\tMicrosoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
•\tBasic data entry and reporting skills
•\tFamiliarity with office equipment and business communication tools
•\tAbility to learn HRIS and benefits administration systems
