The job description includes:

• Facilitating evaluations for potential VAD recipients by identifying candidates, reviewing medical records, and compiling tests.
• Documenting comprehensive clinical assessments, including diagnostic testing and functional status.
• Participating in team meetings, patient review committees, interdisciplinary rounds, and discharge planning sessions.
• Monitoring post-VAD and heart function according to established protocols.
• Providing clinical support to VAD patients, coordinating with hospital nursing staff, VAD RNs, and the perfusion team.

• Proficiency with MS Office Platform, particularly Outlook and Word.
• Computer skills and ability to work effectively across multiple EMRs.
• Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of patient health information (PHI).
• Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, bylaws, regulations and instructions.
• Organ transplantation or procurement knowledge.
• Ability to make decisions ethically and to act as a patient advocate.
• Bilingual (English required/Spanish preferred).

Education and work experience required:

• Bachelor's of Nursing.
• Master's of Nursing (Preferred).
• 1+ of critical care or palliative care experience for patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness (Preferred).
• 1+ of experience of advanced heart failure or post-operative cardiovascular experience (Required).
• 1+ of teaching/preceptor experience (Preferred).
• 1+ of ventricular assist device experience (Preferred).
• 2+ of experience in an acute care setting within the last three years (Required).

Licenses and certifications required:

• Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support CPR Cert (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS).
• CERTIFIED CLINICAL TRANSPLANT COORDINATOR (CCTC) (Preferred) OR Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) (Preferred) OR Certified Heart Failure Nurse (CHFN) (Preferred) OR Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) (Preferred).

Pay Range: $72,189.82 $134,259.75
