Requisition No: 878631 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: OPS HUMAN SERVICES PROGRAM SPECIALIST - 64801153 Pay Plan: Temp Position Number: 64801153 Salary: $20.00 - 25.00/hr Posting Closing Date: 07/14/2026 Total Compensation Estimator ToolFlorida Department of Health Open Competitive This position is responsible for coordinating and providing operational and procedural support to the Division of Children’s Medical Services, Bureau of Early Steps and Newborn Screening, Newborn Hearing Screening Program, and reports to the General and Operations Manager I, Quality Assurance and Training Unit Supervisor. The incumbent in this position must be able to work independently, must have the ability to organize and prioritize workload, engage in collaborative problem-solving, must be capable of ensuring continuity of work in the absence of supervision, and demonstrate sound judgement and initiative in the performance of these duties. Your Specific Responsibilities: Provide support for the monthly hearing screening reporting process led by the Hearing Screening Resource Coordinator for hospitals, birthing centers, and primary care physicians. Complete the linking process in collaboration with the Health Data Analyst within established timeframes. Review hospital responses to the monthly reports and complete necessary corrections within established timeframes. Enter and monitor hearing and CMV screening information and complete actions, including printing/sending letters, monitoring logs in Excel and daily case closures within the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) system. Provide guidance to program staff on complex cases during routine reviews. Provide support for the electronic screening and diagnostic reporting system, eReports. Establish new user accounts and password resets, as necessary. Provide technical assistance, orientation, and support for eReports users Reach out via email and phone to screening providers, audiologists, and primary care physicians to encourage electronic reporting of results. Participate in planning and implementation of continuous quality improvement program activities. Participate in various workgroups, meetings and conferences related to newborn hearing issues or as assigned, which may require travel. Performs other duties as assigned. Serve as backup for other Newborn Hearing Screening Program staff. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication, especially with hospital, clinic or public health providers. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to schedule and coordinate assigned work responsibilities. Ability to work independently. Knowledge of office procedures. Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Knowledge of correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar usage. Knowledge of personal computers and software. Ability to handle telephone calls in a courteous and effective manner. Ability to read, understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to organize and maintain filing systems. Ability to compose correspondence. Ability to determine work priorities and ensure completion of assignments. Ability to review work for accuracy and quality of content. Qualifications: Minimum Valid US driver's license Preferred Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Public Health, Epidemiology, Healthcare Administration, or a related degree. One year professional experience in a hospital, clinic or public health agency in a patient care environment. One year experience working in a hospital, physician’s office, medical facility, and/or public health office analyzing health information and preparing statistical reports One year of professional experience preparing and presenting health-related information to diverse audiences.
