Job Summary

Join our dedicated nursing team as a Registered Nurse in an inpatient Behavioral Health Unit located in New York, US. This role offers a dynamic environment focused on providing comprehensive care to patients requiring specialized behavioral health support.

You will be an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, delivering direct patient care, managing therapeutic interventions, and contributing to a supportive healing environment. There is also an opportunity to train for and assume Charge Nurse responsibilities, fostering professional growth.

Flexibility is key, as there may be occasional floating to similar units within the hospital, such as the Inpatient Addiction Rehab Unit (ARU), ensuring diverse clinical exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to patients within the Behavioral Health Unit.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and perform therapeutic interventions as prescribed.
• Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment plans, and coping strategies.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation.
• Participate in training for and perform Charge Nurse duties as assigned.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including the uniform policy (navy blue scrubs).
• Be prepared to float to other like units, such as the Inpatient Addiction Rehab Unit (ARU), as operational needs dictate.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
• Adherence to hospital uniform policy (navy blue scrubs).

• Assignment Dates: May 31, 2026 - September 12, 2026
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required.
• Holiday Rotation: Holidays required.
• Scheduling Notes: Blocked scheduling may be possible with prior agreement. Requests for scheduled weekends off require prior coverage to be found or specified within RDO (Rest Day Off) agreement.
