Sr. Analyst, Hire to Retire Ops - HR Data

Job Overview The Sr Analyst, Hire to Retire Ops (HTR) in T-Mobile's Magenta Service Center handles a wide range of HR operational processes and complex transactions, bringing advanced functional knowledge and a high degree of independence to the work. This role is responsible for resolving complex employee and manager situations, performing compliance monitoring, and contributing meaningfully to audits and process improvement efforts within the assigned HTR function. The Sr Analyst may specialize in an area such as payroll, leaves of absence, accommodations, recruiting support, myHR, HR data maintenance, onboarding, offboarding, background check and other HR Operations support. By applying advanced knowledge of HR policy, employment law, and systems, the Sr Analyst helps maintain the integrity and consistency of HR service delivery. Their work supports T-Mobile's commitment to operational excellence and a positive employee experience. ** This is a hybrid role (3 days/week in the office) and will be based in Overland Park, KS. ** Job Responsibilities: Performs a wide range of HR operational processes and transactions within the assigned Hire to Retire function — which may include HR data management, or employee and manager inquiry resolution — handling complex situations with a high degree of independence and serving as a resource for the team on matters requiring advanced functional knowledge Leverage deep Workday HCM expertise to administer and govern global HR data throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and seamless system operations. Execute and validate complex Workday transactions, including EIBs, organizational restructures, international updates, and large-scale workforce changes, while serving as the senior point of contact for advanced Workday support, issue resolution, and system guidance. Researches and evaluates complex situations within the assigned function, independently interpreting applicable policies, regulations, and guidelines to reach well-reasoned conclusions, and escalating only matters that are novel, highly sensitive, or outside established parameters Performs compliance monitoring and participates in audit activities by reviewing operational data and transactions, identifying patterns, discrepancies, and control gaps, and recommending corrective actions to support program integrity and regulatory adherence Partners with internal stakeholders such as Legal, Accounting, and HR Centers of Excellence to resolve complex cross-functional issues, contributes subject matter knowledge to team and departmental projects, and helps ensure HR processes are applied accurately and consistently Identifies and helps implement improvements to workflows, documentation, and standard operating procedures within the assigned function, drawing on functional expertise to recommend practical solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and the employee experience Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree OR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required) 2-4 years Related experience within an HR, shared services, or operational setting, with demonstrated depth in one or more HTR functions (Required) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: HR Operations & Systems: Advanced knowledge of HR processes and systems such as Workday (HCM, Extend and Workday security), UKG/Kronos, or case management platforms, with the ability to handle complex transactions and serve as a functional resource for the team. (Required) Data Analysis: Advanced proficiency in analyzing operational data and audit results to identify trends, surface compliance risks, and support data-driven decisions across HR functions. (Required) Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate complex situations, perform root cause analysis, and develop practical solutions within the HR lifecycle with limited need for guidance. (Required) Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners, including the ability to explain complex policy or process matters clearly. (Required) Microsoft Excel: Advanced proficiency in Excel including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools for reporting, audit support, and compliance monitoring. (Required) Compliance and Accountability: In-depth understanding of HR policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements, with demonstrated ability to apply compliance standards to complex operational situations and support audit activities. (Required) Attention To Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all work products, particularly when managing complex transactions, audit reviews, and compliance-sensitive processes. (Required) Customer Focus: Demonstrates a strong commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of internal customers, handling complex or sensitive matters with professionalism and a service-oriented approach. (Required) Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute subject matter knowledge to shared projects and process design efforts. (Required) Adaptability: Ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguous situations, and maintain quality and compliance in a dynamic HR service delivery environment. (Required) Process Improvement: Experience identifying operational gaps and implementing process improvements, with the ability to develop practical recommendations grounded in functional expertise. (Required) Work Independently: Demonstrates the ability to manage complex work with a high degree of ownership, make sound decisions with limited direction, and deliver quality results in a self-directed manner. (Required) Confidentiality: Consistently maintains the confidentiality and security of sensitive employee and HR program data in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations. (Required) Emotional Intelligence: Applies emotional intelligence when handling complex or sensitive HR matters, maintaining trust and professionalism with employees, managers, and cross-functional partners. (Required) Licenses and Certifications: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) (Preferred) Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) (Preferred) Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS / CPDM) (Preferred) At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States Travel: Travel Required (Yes/No): No DOT Regulated: DOT Regulated Position (Yes/No): No Safety Sensitive Position (Yes/No): No Base Pay Range: $64,400 - $116,200 Corporate Bonus Target: 10% The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
