The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix seeks an accomplished academic dermatologist to serve as vice chair of education in the Department of Dermatology.

The vice chair will work in partnership with the department chair, the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education, and the Office of Graduate Medical Education to advance the department's educational mission. Key responsibilities include guiding the development and execution of the department's educational strategic plan, establishing and directing a new dermatology residency program, mentoring faculty and trainees, and building strong collaborations with college, clinical and community stakeholders. Clinical activities will be at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, which has an established and growing dermatology program specializing in cutaneous oncology and oncodermatology, that is part of a multidisciplinary care team. For candidates with an active research program, the position will also include protected time for research and research start-up funding.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience developing, launching, or directing residency and/or fellowship training programs

• Have clinical expertise in cutaneous oncology and/or oncodermatology

Qualifications:

• Hold an MD or MD/PhD degree from an accredited institution

• Be board-certified in Dermatology

• Be eligible for unrestricted medical license in the State of Arizona

• Be eligible for medical staff membership at Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center

• Be eligible for a University of Arizona academic appointment at the associate professor level or higher

• Have at least three years of education and/or administrative experience

• Demonstrate a track record of clinical excellence and clinical scholarship

• Demonstrate a track record of scholarly activity
