Sales Support Coordinator-Small Group

Provides sales and underwriting administrative support to internal sales staff, brokers, and other internal and external areas, for new accounts in the small group (1-50 sized) market segment.

Responsibilities:

• Processes prescreen in conjunction with medical underwriting and prepare quotes for small group prospects.
• Reviews sold groups files for completeness and compliance with underwriting regulations and process installation guidelines, prepares account worksheets, and follows group to completion.
• Creates new group account profiles and opportunity records and maintains and updates changes to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system records.
• Responds to small group broker support calls and emails on general underwriting inquiries, status, and other administrative inquiries
• Processes transfer paperwork for existing groups transferring between channels at renewal, utilizing similar process to new sold group installation
• Stays current on product and process changes, industry trends and governmental regulatory changes. Participates in staff meetings and webinars.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in business or healthcare administration, marketing/communications or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
• 3 years sales support and/or customer service experience, preferably in health insurance and/or working with insurance brokers.
• Familiarity with insurance products and/or sales and service operations processes.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills.
• Basic proficiency with CRM systems.

Senior Sales Support Coordinator-Small Group

Provides sales and underwriting administrative support to internal sales staff, brokers, and other internal and external areas, for new accounts in the small group (1-50 sized) market segment. Responds to escalated or more complex issues, trains and assists more junior level staff, and participates in special projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Processes prescreen in conjunction with medical underwriting and prepare quotes for small group prospects. Processes more complex special strategy quoting initiatives.
• Reviews routine to complex sold groups files for completeness and compliance with underwriting regulations and process installation guidelines, prepares account worksheets, and follows group to completion.
• Creates new group account profiles and opportunity records and maintains and updates changes to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system records.
• Responds to small group broker support calls and emails on general underwriting inquiries, status, and other administrative inquiries. Resolves escalated or complex issues and provides backup in manager's absence.
• Processes routine to complex transfer paperwork for existing groups transferring between channels at renewal, utilizing similar process to new sold group installation
• Develops and maintains process and procedures guidelines. Orients, trains and assists more junior level staff. Helps plan and lead team meetings.
• Participates in special projects and sales initiatives and/or continuous improvement teams.
• Stays current on product and process changes, industry trends and governmental regulatory changes and shares information with staff. Participates in staff meetings and webinars.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in business or healthcare administration, marketing/communications or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
• 5 years of progressive sales support and/or customer service experience in health insurance or related industry.
• Knowledge of health insurance products and/or sales and service operations processes (underwriting, stop loss, benefit plan design, funding, and related government regulations).
• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with CRM systems.
