Junior Staff AccountantThe Junior Staff Accountant supports daily accounting operations with a primary focus on financial reporting, Accounts Payable processing, and general ledger maintenance. This role ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial transactions while providing essential support to the accounting team and internal departments.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Process vendor invoices through the company's AP automation platform, ensuring accuracy, proper formatting, and compliance with internal controls.Verify invoice details and account coding by coordinating with department purchasers to ensure correct recording within the general ledger.Execute approved payments via AP automation, ACH transfers, and corporate credit card systems, following established company policies and authorization procedures.Record and reconcile all Accounts Payable and credit card activity in the organization's ERP system on a routine basis.Handle employee expense reimbursements promptly, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company guidelines.Maintain an organized workflow by tracking time-sensitive tasks, upcoming due dates, and outstanding items to ensure all responsibilities are completed on schedule.Assist with internal audits and account reconciliations, including reviewing vendor statements, analyzing credit card accounts, and investigating discrepancies.Prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation for management review, providing clear and accurate data as requested.Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.Assist in maintaining vendor records, including new vendor setup, W-9 collection, and ensuring accurate vendor information in the accounting system.Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance workflow efficiency within the accounting department.Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as required by the accounting supervisor or management team.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with internship or practical experience in accounting, Accounts Payable, or general finance functions OR prior hands-on experience performing basic accounting or Accounts Payable tasks.Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, and AP automation tools.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial document processing.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with spreadsheets and basic formulas.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with internal teams and external vendors.Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and eagerness to continue learning and growing within the accounting field.Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: Hybrid remote in Reading, PA 19601 Salary: $20 - $24 an hour Employment Type: Full-time
