Elder is seeking polished, hospitality-driven Hosts / Reservationists to join our Front of House team.

Elder is a British Indian chophouse concept from Chef Sujan Sarkar, blending bold Indian flavors with the warmth, sophistication, and timeless hospitality of a classic chophouse. We are building a team of professionals passionate about hospitality, guest relations, and creating exceptional dining experiences.

The Host / Reservationist role at Elder is responsible for creating exceptional first and last impressions for every guest. This role manages reservations, coordinates seating flow, communicates effectively with guests and service teams, and ensures a seamless arrival and departure experience.

Essential Duties

• Greet every guest with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality
• Manage reservations and guest communications through reservation platforms and phone inquiries
• Maintain an organized and efficient reservation book while maximizing covers and seating flow
• Coordinate seating strategically with management and service teams to ensure smooth operations
• Manage waitlists and accurately communicate wait times to guests
• Handle guest requests, special occasions, VIP notes, and reservation modifications with attention to detail
• Maintain full knowledge of restaurant offerings, menus, hours, and policies
• Assist in accommodating walk-ins while balancing reservations and service flow
• Communicate effectively with managers, servers, captains, and kitchen teams regarding service needs and guest concerns
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance areas
• Support guest recovery by handling concerns professionally and escalating issues when necessary
• Ensure all guest interactions reflect the standards and hospitality culture of Elder
• Assist with administrative tasks and reservation reporting as needed
• Adhere to grooming, uniform, and service standards

Skills & Requirements

• 2+ years of host, reservationist, or guest relations experience preferred
• Upscale dining, steakhouse, or fine dining experience preferred
• Experience with reservation platforms such as OpenTable, Resy, or SevenRooms preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Warm, confident, and polished guest-facing presence
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills and professional judgment
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
• Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
• Strong work ethic and passion for hospitality

Physical Demands

This role requires standing and moving for extended periods of time, frequent communication with guests and team members, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $24.00) plus tips
