Job Summary

A direct hire opportunity is available for an experienced Business Development Manager in Los Angeles, CA within the banking and consumer lending industry. This management-level role is ideal for a commercial banking professional with deep experience in corporate lending, C&I transactions, syndications, portfolio management, and deposit growth.

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in acquiring new commercial clients, expanding existing relationships, supporting underwriting activities, and growing a profitable loan and deposit portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to work in a professional branch banking environment with collaborative leadership, strong internal support, and a focus on long-term client relationships, regulatory excellence, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop new commercial banking relationships through networking, referrals, community outreach, and proactive business development.
- Maintain and grow a profitable loan portfolio by identifying lending, credit, and deposit opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Coordinate and support underwriting for Commercial, C&I, and Syndication transactions in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with loan officers and internal teams to manage portfolio activity, analyze company fundamentals, and evaluate industry and market conditions.
- Drive deposit growth by promoting checking, savings, certificates of deposit, and other commercial banking solutions to SMEs, commercial clients, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Support regulatory examinations, internal and external audits, validations, reporting requirements, and compliance with BSA/AML, CIP, OFAC, and applicable banking regulations.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $120,000 to $170,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead business development efforts for commercial banking, lending, deposit growth, and client acquisition.
- Manage and deepen commercial client relationships while identifying cross-selling opportunities.
- Coordinate underwriting and portfolio management for Commercial, C&I, and Syndication transactions.
- Prepare business development reports, pipeline updates, and portfolio-related documentation for branch management.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of corporate banking experience in lending required.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial banking products, C&I lending, credit analysis, underwriting, and relationship management.
- Understanding of U.S. banking regulations, including BSA/AML, CIP, OFAC, and internal compliance requirements.
- Ability to analyze company fundamentals, industry trends, market conditions, and credit opportunities.
- Strong communication, networking, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to lead, guide, and support team members in efficient daily banking operations.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, customer focus, and regulatory compliance awareness.

Preferred Qualifications

- Established commercial banking network within the Los Angeles or broader West Coast market.
- Experience working with small and medium-sized businesses, commercial clients, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Prior experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal audits, external audits, or portfolio validations.
- Demonstrated success growing both loan and deposit portfolios in a branch banking or commercial banking environment.
