Hematology/Oncology Physician

Locum and Locum-to-Perm - Des Moines, Iowa - Hematology/Oncology Openings - IMLC Welcome Coverage Dates:

• Facility needs coverage 4 days per week. 95% of coverage is outpatient. 5% of coverage is inpatient.
• Provider will need to be able to cover (mostly). These can be either M-Th or M-F:

• Medical Hematology/Oncology coverage 4-5 days per week
• Inpatient coverage required at both Des Moines and West Des Moines locations
• Number of Physicians: 1
• Number of APPs: 0
• Supervision of APPs: Not required
• Nursing Support: 1:1
• Medical Imaging, Lab & Pharmacy onsite
• EMR: Epic

Clinical Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinic and inpatient coverage
• Patient assessments
• Development of new treatment plans
• Ongoing treatment management and therapy adjustments
• Referral for ancillary services
• End-of-life care discussions
• Chemotherapy management
• Pain management coordination
• Radiation and surgical oncology management supported by existing providers with strong referral relationships

Patient Volume

• Clinic Provider Daily Volume: 10-30 patients
• Average Daily Hospital Census: 10-15 patients
• Appointment Lengths:
  • New Consults: 40 minutes
  • Follow-Ups: 20 minutes
• Patient Population:
  • Primary Clinic: Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial
  • Secondary Clinic: Commercial, Medicare

Requirements

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology - Required
• Willing to review candidates Board Certified in Oncology with Hematology experience and willing to see Hematology patients.
• Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology - Required
• License - open to new license candidates now! Please note at time of name clear - REQUIRED
• Experienced Provider - Required
• Must be willing to work at both Des Moines and West Des Moines locations - Required
• Clean Malpractice History - Required
