Responsibilities Run the shift and serve as clinical resource for staff. Under the direction of the manager, plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the unit on a designated shift. Perform direct patient care as needed and function as clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assess, plan, evaluate and document the nursing process of the assigned unit as needed. Facilitate identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory care setting. Critically assess patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establish consults to interprofessional team as appropriate. Lead the development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Utilize and champion scientific inquiry for evidence-based practices. Explore opportunities to advance nursing practice. Analyze gaps in practice standards and provide feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership to enhance safe patient care. Lead the evaluation of the patient and family experience, and adjust care provided to improve patient satisfaction and quality of care. Maintain safety-sensitive performance; remain alert and work in a safe manner. BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. Experience: 2-5 years nursing experience. Supervisor Experience: No Experience required. Licenses & Certifications: RN. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
