Human Resources Assistant

The Human Resources Assistant will support the administrative and strategic functions of the HR department. This volunteer or internship role is ideal for someone passionate about people, process improvement, and ministry leadership development. The assistant will help ensure HR processes align with the mission of building a thriving, spiritually rooted volunteer and staff culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting opportunities, screening applicants, and scheduling interviews.

• Support onboarding and offboarding processes for volunteers and interns.

• Maintain and update volunteer records and personnel files in compliance with ministry standards.

• Help develop HR forms, manuals, and internal policies tailored for ministry culture.

• Coordinate and track training and development efforts for ministry leaders and team members.

• Assist in planning team-building and appreciation events.

• Support efforts to create a safe, inclusive, and spiritually nurturing work environment.

• Help manage confidential information with discretion and care.

• Conduct surveys to measure team satisfaction and gather feedback.

Qualifications

• A heart for serving others.

• Strong organizational and administrative skills.

• Currently enrolled college student, recently graduated college student, or CPT/OPT student.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Basic knowledge of HR practices, or willingness to learn.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Respect for confidentiality and sensitivity in handling people-related matters.

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
