Director Analyst, HRIT/HR Data Governance and Management (REMOTE US)

Remote Position This is an individual contributor role based remotely in North America. Key Responsibilities Create innovative, thought‑provoking research in multiple formats—including writing, video, infographics, and podcasts—on topics such as data governance, HR technology roadmapping, and AI’s impact on HR. Develop new insights and actionable approaches that accelerate clients’ strategic capabilities. Produce in‑depth analyses that identify root causes of client challenges and reframe their thinking. Lead the creation of provocative, independent insights that evolve the research agenda. Track and collaborate with vendors, emerging technologies and practices to stay ahead of trends in the AI‑ and data‑driven HR space. Provide individualized, data‑driven advice to CHROs, HR functional leaders and technology leaders through video presentations and discussions. Create and deliver high‑value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings. Serve as a voice of the market to support BTI sales teams, helping them drive client engagement and business growth. Perform high‑quality, timely content peer reviews. Build credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy. Actively participate in innovation, ideation, and research discussions with the BTI community. Identify and develop research process improvements to deliver excellent service. Mentor and coach junior team members. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience in HR technology and/or operations leadership, with recent ownership of data governance or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience implementing and managing HCM and other core HR technology in enterprise organizations to transform HR processes and workflows. Background in data governance and management, including collaboration with legal, privacy, and compliance teams to institute strict ethical guidelines, bias‑mitigation protocols, and data‑privacy standards for AI and HR technology usage. Profound understanding of CHRO challenges and familiarity with CHRO workflows and priorities. Deep first‑hand knowledge of the HR technology landscape, particularly HCM suites, market dynamics, vendors, products, emerging use cases, and AI’s transformative impact. Track record of successfully collaborating with IT, senior leaders, and cross‑functional teams to improve data literacy and build a “data‑ready” culture. Strong executive presence and ability to establish credibility with senior audiences. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high‑quality deliverables. Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions. Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data, applying patterns and frameworks, and defending conclusions to client challenges. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multicultural global team. Ability to accept and provide constructive feedback. Comfort presenting at large and small‑scale speaking engagements. Strong business and financial acumen. Ability to represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategies at all levels. Agility in navigating and learning within highly matrixed environments. Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%, regionally and globally.
