Senior Property Accountant

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who can take ownership of financial operations, reporting, and month-end close while partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do
- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations for a portfolio of commercial and industrial properties
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Analyze financial data and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support annual audits, tax filings, and other financial compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams and provide financial guidance as needed.
- Mentor junior accounting team members and help maintain a high standard of accuracy and accountability.
- Stay current on accounting regulations, industry developments, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field .
- 3+ years of accounting experience , preferably in a senior-level role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and auditing .
- Experience with tax preparation and financial compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting and financial software such as Yardi , SAP, or similar platforms .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Leadership mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively and mentor others.
- CPA certification preferred.
