ACCOUNTANT I (SPECIALIST)

Job Summary The Accountant I (Specialist) reports to the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor) and performs semi‑professional accounting work and account maintenance for the Unemployment Insurance (UI) and Disability Insurance (DI) programs. Key Responsibilities Review and reconcile benefit payments and overpayments, including processing remittances, adjustments, transfers, and other accounting transactions. Utilize databases, spreadsheets, and benefit accounting reports to analyze information from Federal, State, and Departmental sources. Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the UI and DI Trust Funds. Adapt to frequent workload changes based on organizational priorities. Work at the EDD office located in RanchoCordova and remotely; telework is hybrid. Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications are detailed in the Classification Specification. Desirable Qualifications Financial accounting experience Work Location and Telework Location: Sacramento County (Rancho Cordova). Telework: Hybrid (remote and in‑office). Additional Details This position does not offer visa sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without a visa by the start date.
