Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Stockroom Clerk for our large valve company in Costa Mesa, CA. This role involves managing materials and supplies under moderate supervision, ensuring efficient inventory control, and supporting various manufacturing and shipping operations.

Responsibilities

• Select, count, weigh-count, and deliver materials to manufacturing areas and the Shipping Department according to material requisitions.
• Verify parts for identification numbers and descriptions for storage and material selection.
• Prepare shortage requisitions.
• Assist in taking cycle-counts and physical inventories.
• Enter basic computerized inventory data.
• Log and store materials received from manufacturing, receiving, and inspection areas.
• Load and unload delivery trucks and transfer inventory between company locations.
• Pack parts in cartons for shipment as directed.
• Assist in mailing and receiving areas as needed.
• Operate abrasive saw as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
• Ensure punctual attendance and adherence to company policies.
• Comply fully with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

• Experience in material stocking, storage, or control is desirable.
• Knowledge of safe equipment operating procedures and work practices.
• Ability to operate forklifts, computers, and weigh-counting scales safely and efficiently.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and material specifications.
• Proficiency in completing shortage requisitions and basic inventory records.
• Capacity to inspect parts, materials, and work in progress for quality standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Understanding of work instructions and operating procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Physical ability to bend, lift, move, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Capability to alternate between standing and walking for extended periods.
• Experience operating a forklift and bicycle as required by job duties.

Work Environment

The work environment involves manufacturing valves for various industries, with sizes ranging from that of a softball to a large engine. Employees are expected to adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, CA.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Costa Mesa,CA.
