Full-Time Associate Attorney at Astuno & Associates, APC

Position: Full-Time Associate Attorney
Location: La Jolla, CA
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Date: Immediate Opening

Pay Range: $85,000-$140,000 / year

Astuno & Associates, APC, a multijurisdictional full-service civil law firm, seeks a skilled and dedicated licensed attorney to fill a full-time litigation attorney position in our La Jolla, CA office. Our firm manages diverse litigation and transactional legal matters, including business, real estate, domestic relations, and estate planning/trust and estates. For families and individuals, we secure legacies, and for businesses and organizations, we manage complexity from start-up to sale.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, team-oriented individual who embraces responsibility and is eager to take charge of their cases. This role requires excellent legal drafting skills and the ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in legal proceedings, ensuring compliance with law regulations, and providing comprehensive legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in court proceedings and other legal matters.
• Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
• Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations related to various cases.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting litigation practices.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the law office to ensure effective case management.
• Prepare for trials by organizing evidence and developing case strategies.

Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar Association.
• Strong skills in legal drafting and negotiation.
• Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
