Hours/Week: 36-48 hours (dependent on schedule)

Experience: 2+ years of recent ER experience in acute care

Hourly Pay Rate: $50.25

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population aged from newborn to geriatric
• Manage all aspects of patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Perform IV starts, administer medications, and support continuous patient monitoring
• Assist with patient admissions, admissions hold, and discharges
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalists, and charge nurses
• Maintain accurate records using Meditech Expanse EMR and operating IV pumps and Pyxis medication systems
• Conduct patient education and support emotional and psychological needs

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ER/acute care RN experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, CPI or MOAB certifications
• Strong multitasking, critical thinking, and patient assessment skills
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam upon arrival
• Comfortable managing admitted patients and hall bed assignments

Preferred:

• Previous travel experience
• Experience with diverse patient cases including stroke, cardiac, trauma, and mental health

About the Assignment This ER department features 21 beds and averages 85-95 visits per day, managing a wide variety of urgent care cases including respiratory distress, diabetic emergencies, GI bleeds, strokes, and minor traumas. The unit promotes a traveler-friendly atmosphere and provides orientation to ensure a smooth transition for new staff. No floating to other units is required, and the schedule includes working every other weekend, holidays (2 out of 3), with flexible time-off options.
