What You'll Do

• Provide emergency care across a diverse patient population, including pediatrics and geriatrics
• Manage patients with cardiovascular, diabetic, renal, infectious, and trauma-related conditions
• Assess, plan, and implement patient care, including IV starts, chest tube management, and defibrillation
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
• Collaborate with ED physicians, charge nurses, and other team members in a fast-paced environment
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Support unit operations during shift, including patient monitoring and emergency interventions

What You Need

• Valid licensure as an RN in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of ER or acute care experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, CPI or MOAB
• Key Skills: IV placement, chest tube management, stroke/NIHSS experience, ICU GTT management, ability to handle admitted patients in ED
• Supportive team player with strong clinical assessment skills

About the Assignment
Join a dynamic team at a leading hospital in Shreveport, a modern facility with 325 licensed beds and dedicated units for acute stroke, chest pain, and general emergency care. The hospital serves a diverse community, handling approximately 120 patients daily with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3-4. You'll be supported by experienced ED physicians, a charge nurse, unit clerk, phlebotomists, and 24/7 radiology and RT staff. This assignment features a flexible schedule with varying rotations, including every other weekend, and shifts mostly scheduled as 7-on/7-off.
