Service in this position is temporary, contingent on funding and need, and shall not lead to permanent employment or service for purposes of tenure accrual for certificated employment. Duties: ? The counselor will work with students, Community Colleges, post-secondary tech schools, local support agencies, consortium counselors, GUSD secondary schools and Academic Counselors and families. ? The counselor will work closely with the Mount Madonna High School counselor to ensure a seamless transition to Adult Education. ? The counselor will help students with: personal-educational issues, study skills, time management, college and career goals and employment training opportunities. ? The counselor will help students with their “Get Focused, Stay Focused” curriculum goal setting. ? The counselor will support the students and help with referrals to social programs when necessary. Approximate time commitment: Hourly, week by week it will fluctuate but on average about 5-8 hours per week. Compensation: Paid by time claim (GUSD form #61) at the hourly rates of $41 instruction / $37 non-instruction.
