Business Banking Relationship Manager

Application Deadline: 07/26/2026 Location: 13300 Crossroads Parkway North Responsibilities Cultivate, build, and manage relationships with small business clients to build a pipeline of new business and increase market share. Apply consultative sales and business development practices and techniques for an assigned jurisdiction/portfolio. Identify opportunities and refer to BMO colleagues as appropriate. Develop and execute sales strategies to attract new business clients and expand existing relationships. Develop internal and external networks and referral sources to ensure ongoing growth of BMO's business. Generate appointments and opportunities to grow business results through targeted sales efforts. Develop, maintain, and execute a business plan, including relationship management strategies, to achieve customer retention objectives. Identify prospective customers and cross‑sell additional products and services to meet their needs. Develop client rapport and instill confidence, building credibility and earning trust as a relationship manager. Understand local market and proactively develop relationships with centers of influence. Deliver exceptional customer service and build trust by providing expertise, responsive service, and support. Expand wallet share within the assigned portfolio and maintain long‑term profitable relationships. Answer inquiries and provide accurate information about business banking products and services. Understand customer needs and offer financial solutions that meet their goals. Resolve or escale issues, develop solutions and make recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs. Provide advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions. Analyze data to provide insights and recommendations and monitor performance. Coordinate database management ensuring data governance standards. Build change management plans and lead or participate in readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management and execution. Support operational programs and deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service. Adhere to security and safeguarding procedures and comply with policies and ethical standards. Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information in compliance with policies. Identify risks and take appropriate actions, documenting regulatory requirements. Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules. Work independently on complex tasks and take measured risks aligned with risk management framework. Qualifications Typically 4‑6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Post‑secondary degree in related field of study. Strong financial analysis skills and ability to interpret financial statements. Knowledge of business banking products, lending processes and loan documentation. Experience with customer sales and service. Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Collaboration and team skills. Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Influence skills. Data‑driven decision making. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $63,300.00 - $117,200.00 (Salaried; commission structure may apply).
