Sr. Java Full Stack Engineer

Salary: $176,800 - 178,880 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification
• 10+ years of hands-on software design and development experience
• Expertise in Java, Python, and Linux
• Deep experience with low-latency messaging systems such as 29West or Kafka
• Proficiency in KDB+ or another time-series database
• Strong background developing scalable, distributed, asynchronous, event-driven applications
• Advanced knowledge of low-latency design patterns and performance optimization
• Experience with Capital Markets or brokerage systems, particularly order management
• Solid understanding of the FIX protocol and FIX engines
• Experience using AI developer-assistance tools such as GitHub Copilot
• Experience with CI/CD tools including GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, and uDeploy
• Hands-on experience deploying applications to AWS or another cloud platform
• Ability to understand complex end-to-end systems and identify performance, scalability, and resilience bottlenecks
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and contribute effectively in a collaborative team
• Self-directed approach to innovation and ability to work with leadership
• Willingness to support production systems and join on-call rotations, including occasional weekend support

• Lead the hands-on design and development of next-generation trading systems and infrastructure
• Architect and build distributed, event-driven trading systems designed for low latency and high throughput
• Design and implement asynchronous processing frameworks and resilient messaging services
• Work with internal and external teams to deliver robust, end-to-end trading workflows
• Lead platform performance tuning and optimization
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Support production and non-production environments, including a weekly on-call rotation

We are seeking a highly experienced software engineer for a technical leadership role in a mission-critical trading environment, where you will collaborate across teams and help advance scalable, resilient, high-performance systems. This is a remote contract position with working hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and an advertised rate of $85–$86 per hour.
