Director / Manager of Family Office Services
Location: Northern New Jersey or Boca Raton, Florida
Position Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity
A growing CPA and advisory firm is expanding its Family Office Services practice and seeking an experienced Director or Manager of Family Office Services to help build, lead, and grow this strategic division.
This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, family offices, business owners, executives, entrepreneurs, and families navigating complex financial situations including liquidity events, business sales, generational wealth transfers, tax planning, estate planning coordination, and multi-entity financial management.
The ideal candidate is a CPA with experience in a family office, public accounting, wealth advisory, private client services, or a multi-family office environment and understands the unique needs of affluent families and closely held businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for UHNW individuals and family groups.
- Coordinate and oversee complex financial affairs across multiple entities, trusts, partnerships, investments, and operating businesses.
- Act as the central point of contact among clients and their professional advisors, including attorneys, wealth managers, bankers, insurance professionals, and investment consultants.
- Provide strategic guidance related to liquidity events, business exits, acquisitions, succession planning, and wealth preservation.
Family Office Services
- Lead delivery of comprehensive family office services, including:
- Financial reporting and consolidated net worth reporting
- Cash flow and liquidity management
- Bill pay and expense management oversight
- Trust and estate administration coordination
- Tax planning and compliance oversight
- Risk management and insurance reviews
- Entity structuring and governance support
- Assist families with establishing formal family office structures and operating procedures.
Business Advisory & Planning
- Advise privately held business owners on:
- Business transitions
- Exit planning
- Mergers and acquisitions
- Family succession strategies
- Wealth transfer opportunities
- Collaborate with firm leadership to identify cross-selling opportunities across tax, accounting, consulting, and advisory services.
Practice Development
- Help build and expand the firm's Family Office Services platform.
- Participate in networking, business development, referral relationships, and community involvement.
- Develop relationships with attorneys, wealth advisors, private bankers, and centers of influence.
- Contribute to thought leadership and market positioning efforts.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and develop staff accountants, advisors, and support personnel.
- Assist in establishing processes, technology solutions, and service offerings for the Family Office practice.
- Participate in recruiting and talent development initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- CPA designation required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience within:
- Family Office
- Multi-Family Office
- Public Accounting
- Private Client Services
- Wealth Advisory
- Outsourced CFO / Advisory Services
- Experience working with affluent and ultra-high-net-worth families.
- Strong understanding of:
- Tax planning
- Trusts and estates
- Entity structures
- Wealth preservation strategies
- Financial reporting
- Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills.
