We're unapologetically ambitious.We are looking for a Sr. Context Director to lead integrated cultural communications strategy across a portfolio of high-impact brands.This role is based in Brooklyn, New York with four days in-office and one day remote.What You'll DoIntegrated Strategy & Communications PlanningLead the development of integrated communications strategies across paid, owned, earned, and experiential channelsTranslate business objectives into full-funnel channel architecture, go-to-market plans, and campaign systemsOwn the narrative structure and strategic flow of key deliverables, ensuring clarity, cohesion, and persuasivenessCultural Intelligence & Audience StrategyProvide ongoing cultural intelligence, audience insight, and marketplace POV to inform campaign and brand strategyDevelop and apply audience-first frameworks that reflect the nuances of African American consumer dynamics and broader cultural segmentsEnsure all work is grounded in credible insight and aligned to real consumer behaviors and tensionsMedia Strategy & Partner IntegrationDirect strategic inputs into media planning, including channel mix, audience strategy, and partner evaluationGuide development of custom partnerships, from RFI/RFP through execution, ensuring cultural relevance and business impactCollaborate closely with internal and external media teams to align strategy, execution, and performance expectationsContribute to Investment Briefings and campaign planning workstreams with clear, data-informed recommendationsCreative Development & World-BuildingPressure-test creative concepts through a culturally fluent lens, ensuring authenticity, resonance, and effectivenessPartner with Creative, Talent, and Production teams to shape how ideas come to life across platforms and momentsTranslate strategy into actionable frameworks that guide execution across content, partnerships, and mediaClient & Stakeholder LeadershipMaintain and grow senior-level client relationships, serving as a trusted strategic partnerLead cross-agency collaboration within complex Integrated Agency Team (IAT) environmentsInfluence decision-making across stakeholders, ensuring alignment between strategy, creative, and mediaTeam Leadership & DevelopmentManage and mentor a team of Context planners across media and creative workstreamsOversee resourcing, workflow, and output quality across multiple concurrent campaignsProvide clear direction, actionable feedback, and professional development supportCross-Portfolio ContributionApply Context discipline across multiple categories and business challenges, adapting approach based on brand needsContribute to broader organizational thought leadership, identifying opportunities to evolve how Context drives impact across the businessKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced integrated communications planning across paid, owned, earned, and experiential channelsStrong command of audience strategy, channel roles, and media ecosystem dynamicsAbility to translate cultural research and data into clear, commercially grounded recommendationsDeep fluency in African American culture, subcultures, and media behaviorsExperience evaluating media partners using audience fit, indexing, and performance signalsStrong creative judgment and ability to connect strategy to executionExecutive-level presentation, storytelling, and stakeholder management skillsOperational discipline within complex, fast-paced, multi-agency environmentsMinimum Qualifications9+ years of experience in communications planning, cultural strategy, integrated media strategy, or related fieldsDemonstrated experience leading integrated campaigns for large, complex brandsProven ability to develop strategies that engage multicultural or African American audiencesExperience working within cross-functional and multi-agency teamsPreferred QualificationsExperience working on QSR, retail, or high-volume consumer brandsExperience with custom partnerships, media innovation, and partner negotiationsExperience mentoring and developing mid-to-senior level talentAbility to navigate both creative-driven and data-driven environmentsAbout UnitedMasters, Inc.UnitedMasters Inc. represents the creative solutions company, Translation, and the leading software and services platform for independent creators, UnitedMasters. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.The salary range above is for the NY/CA.
