Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose mental health disorders in students.
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of each student, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
• Prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications, monitoring their efficacy and making necessary adjustments based on patient feedback and clinical observations.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions, employing a range of therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy.
• Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and other mental health professionals to coordinate comprehensive support for students, ensuring a holistic approach to mental health treatment.
• Educate students and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and coping strategies to promote better understanding and self-management.
• Continuously monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as required based on observed outcomes and student feedback.
• Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and enhance collaborative treatment strategies.
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards, ensuring the confidentiality and privacy of student information in compliance with regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on the mental health needs of students within a school environment, addressing a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues. You will work closely with children and adolescents, understanding the unique challenges they face in their academic and social environments. Your role will not only focus on diagnosis and treatment but also on fostering resilience and equipping students with essential coping skills for their personal and educational journeys.

Qualifications

• A valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Georgia, along with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a related field is required.
• Successful completion of an accredited PMHNP program.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children and their families.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
