Work Environment

This full-time position is onsite at a local school in Atlanta, providing a unique opportunity to serve as a health resource for students. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and diagnose both acute and chronic medical conditions to provide tailored healthcare solutions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Order, interpret diagnostic tests, and collaborate with pathologists and radiologists as needed to formulate comprehensive care strategies.
• Prescribe medications and implement therapy protocols, following the latest guidelines and state regulations to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Educate students, parents, and school staff on disease prevention, health promotion, and managing chronic illnesses, fostering a proactive health environment.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and school policies.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided to students and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the school health program.
• Stay informed of current trends, protocols, and regulations in healthcare, particularly those relating to pediatric and adolescent health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse student population, ranging from early childhood through adolescence, addressing various health issues, including immunizations, minor injuries, respiratory illnesses, and mental health concerns. This role is crucial in identifying and managing the unique health challenges that students may face, while also promoting overall wellness and academic success.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner, with an active state nursing license in Georgia.
• A Bachelor's degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution, with formal training focused on family or pediatric nursing.
• At least 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with a focus on pediatric or adolescent health care.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills necessary to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess patient needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a school-based health program or with adolescent populations is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records and telemedicine platforms to facilitate patient care and communication.
• Familiarity with community resources available for health education and patient support.

Compensation and Benefits

• The position offers an attractive salary range of $120,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
