Commercial Lines Account Executive - Construction Specialist
Job location: Islandia, NY
Experience Required: 5+ Years in Commercial Insurance
Specialization: Construction Industry Focus
Role Type: Hybrid Service & Sales Position
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Executive with specialized expertise in managing construction-related insurance accounts. This is a dynamic role that combines both account management and business development responsibilities, requiring a professional who can expertly service existing clients while identifying and pursuing growth opportunities within their book of business. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of managing complex construction accounts and delivering exceptional client service in a fast-paced commercial insurance environment.
Primary ResponsibilitiesAccount Management & Service (75%)- Manage and service a substantial book of construction-focused commercial lines accounts, serving as the primary point of contact for all client insurance needs
- Conduct comprehensive policy reviews and coverage analyses to ensure clients maintain adequate protection for their construction operations, including general liability, workers compensation, builders risk, professional liability, and inland marine coverages
- Process policy changes, endorsements, and certificates of insurance with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and client specifications
- Coordinate renewal processes 60-90 days in advance, including marketing accounts to multiple carriers, analyzing proposals, preparing comprehensive renewal presentations, and negotiating optimal terms and pricing
- Handle complex certificate requests and subcontractor compliance requirements specific to construction projects
- Respond promptly to client inquiries regarding coverage questions, claims issues, and risk management concerns
- Maintain detailed account documentation and activity records in the agency management system
- Collaborate with carriers to resolve coverage issues, billing discrepancies, and policy service matters
- Conduct regular client meetings and account reviews to strengthen relationships and identify additional coverage needs
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and go out with producers on client visits
