Remote Loan Officer Assistant

About the Role We are looking for an organized, service-minded Loan Officer Assistant to help manage a high volume of mortgage leads from initial borrower consultation through closing. This remote position supports loan officers remotely from home, keeps files moving, and guides borrowers through each step. NMLS license helpful but not required. Responsibilities Work closely with loan officers throughout the day to coordinate priorities, discuss files, and follow through on next steps. Run automated underwriting systems (AUS), and assist with loan structuring and program comparisons under the loan officer’s direction. Assist with applications, borrower information, disclosures, and loan registration with various investors Review income, asset, credit, and property documents for completeness; follow up on missing items and outstanding conditions. Track transaction deadlines, rate lock expirations, disclosures, condition collections, and closing milestones. Keep borrowers informed from application through closing, answer process questions. Assist with assigned client follow-up and occasionally call leads to schedule appointments. Preferred Skills Experience in mortgage lending, loan officer support, processing, or a related role. Working knowledge of residential loan documentation, credit reports, DTI ratios, AUS findings, and the loan process from beginning to end. Familiarity with conventional, FHA, VA, HELOC, and non-QM guidelines. Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple active files. Comfortable using loan origination systems and learning lender portals and program guidelines.
