We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide assistance to at least one attorney, ensuring they are able to carry out their duties. You will create legal documents as instructed by the attorney, communicate with clients, and compile case materials. The ideal candidate is hardworking and detail-oriented with insurance defense experience.
Responsibilities:
Prepare legal documents and review documents for completeness and accuracy per the attorney's instructions.
Must be able to proofread for grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Maintain attorney's calendar.
Submit and monitor requests for medical records.
Communicate with clients and witnesses.
Ensure that case-related documents are well organized and easily retrievable.
Provide general administrative support.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of previous experience as a Legal Assistant is preferred.
Certification or diploma as a Legal Assistant is preferred, but not necessary.
Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized with document management experience.
Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail.
