Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients, ensuring that treatment goals are met through evidence-based interventions that align with their unique needs.
• Document therapy sessions accurately and submit documentation promptly by agency standards and licensing regulations.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, contributing to treatment plans and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to facilitate holistic care.
• Engage in on-unit programming and staff training to continually enhance your therapeutic skills and contribute to the professional development of the team.
• Communicate effectively with clients and treatment teams, ensuring that all treatment updates are shared promptly to optimize patient recovery and foster a constructive therapeutic environment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work as a Mental Health Counselor will primarily focus on supporting a varied patient population dealing with mood disorders, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. You will provide tailored therapy for clients from diverse backgrounds, including culturally sensitive practices that respect individual differences and promote effective engagement.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid California licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, especially in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Strong grasp of psychopharmacology to collaborate effectively with prescribing psychiatrists.
• Exceptional communication skills that foster rapport with clients, enhancing their overall treatment experience.

Preferred Experience

• A proven track record of successful outcomes in the treatment of mood disorders.
• Experience engaging with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
