Benefits are subject to change and may vary by labor agreement.Job Summary: The person in this position performs a variety of routine and non-routine clerical and accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in general accounting and accounts payable.Responsibilities:Prepare invoices to be entered into an automated system; reviews invoices for accuracy and sending for electronic approvalsProcess invoices in the Great Plains Accounting SystemProcess purchase order invoices and project invoicesReview reports and statements; respond to questions and requests for payment statusContact vendors as needed; provide customer service to our vendorsProvide information for various tax filingsCommunicate with other departments and regional personnelPrepare and participate in internal and external auditsMaintain and keep vendor files up to dateCompile, audit, and report accounts payable data as necessaryAssist in the closing and auditing of monthly, quarterly, and yearly subsidiary general ledger accountsPerform other accounting duties, as requiredRequired Skills and/or Experience:Effective verbal and written communication skillsMust be organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independentlyStrong personal computer skills, with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel and Great Plains or other accounting softwareRequired Education and Credentials:Associate's degree in business, finance, or accounting; or, equivalent work experience in accounts payable or accountingEmployment Requirements:Pre-employment physical, hearing, and vision medical reviewMay be subject to federally mandated drug and alcohol testing including pre-employment drug screeningBackground screening including conflict of interest, criminal, and motor vehicle driving historyRelocation: Must live within 50 miles of assigned location or be willing to relocate.
