Accounts Payable SpecialistOur client is an established commercial general contractor in the Southeast Valley of the Phoenix metro, specializing in tenant improvement and ground-up construction. Under new ownership and in growth mode, with revenue projected to double over the next two years, the company is rebuilding its accounting team under a new controller. This seat owns full-cycle accounts payable in a high-volume environment, processing and coding project and vendor invoices in Sage 300 across a large portfolio of active jobs.ResponsibilitiesOwn the full-cycle accounts payable process: receive, review, code, enter, and process a high volume of vendor and project invoicesCode invoices to the correct job cost categories, cost codes, and general ledger accounts in Sage 300Verify approvals, purchase orders, and supporting documentation before processingResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and vendor inquiriesMaintain accurate vendor records and compliance documentationPrepare and process payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wiresPerform account and subledger-to-GL reconciliationsSupport month-end close with accruals, aging, and AP reportingProvide documentation support for auditsWork daily with project managers and vendors in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities across multiple active projectsRequired Qualifications3+ years of hands-on full-cycle accounts payable experience.Sage 300 and MS Excel experienceAt least 2 years in commercial construction or a related project-driven industry (general contracting, specialty trades, homebuilding, civil)Strong attention to detail with a track record of catching coding errors before they hit the general ledgerJob cost coding experience in a construction environmentExperience supporting project managers or a controllerAccount reconciliation experienceComfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple active projectsStrong communication and organizational skills; self-starter who works well independentlyPreferred ExperienceHH2 experienceAP automation or document management software experienceJob BenefitsAnnual bonus2 weeks PTOPaid Holidays40 hours of sick timeAetna PPO medical, choice of two plans, employee cost as low as $8.70 per weekHRA: you're only responsible for the first $1,000 of the deductible, with up to $4,500 reimbursed after thatDental and vision coverage for about $6 per week combined401(k) with up to 4% company matchCompany cell phone or $40 per month stipend ($480 a year)Short-term and long-term disability plus accident coverage7:30 AM to 3:30 PM schedule
