Academic Coordinator

Scaremare student workers are responsible and accountable to the Director of Scaremare. The student worker is responsible for supporting the overall production of Scaremare in conjunction with the Director. This involves but is not limited to the design and set-up of Scaremare, helping to manage the facility, directing Christian service volunteers, and assisting with the overall operation of Scaremare. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work in conjunction with the Director to prepare and operate Scaremare. Provide effective communication with Christian Service volunteers both written and oral Be on site to assist with both the preparation and overall production. Oversee and coordinate particular areas of Scaremare, such as the Buildings, Woods, Gospel Speakers, Line Slasher, CSER volunteers, Security, and Technology, as designated by the Director. Attend all nine nights of Scaremare and associated workdays Other duties as assigned. Additional information may be found here QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS Some college experience is necessary, but an undergraduate degree is preferred. Experience with theater, security, technology ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB Effective communicator Strong leadership skills – lead and organize large groups of people Organized and able to complete tasks in a timely manner Problem solver – able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment Able to lift 20 lbs Required to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently WORKING CONDITIONS Work Environment The candidate is expected to work in a variety of work settings around campus, including office settings, public gatherings, small groups, etc. Regular mobility by car, bus, or by foot is required around campus. Time Type Part time Location Onsite Pay Rate Starting at $12.77 Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour.
