Experienced Patent Prosecution Attorney - Intellectual Property Practice

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Patent Attorney to join its Intellectual Property Practice in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have over three years of relevant experience and a strong technical background to support a diverse client base in patent prosecution and strategic IP management. Duties Draft, prosecute, and manage domestic and international patent applications. Conduct patentability searches and freedom-to-operate analyses. Develop strategic IP portfolio management for clients. Counsel clients on complex issues under 35 U.S.C. §§ 101, 102, 103, and 112. Collaborate on post-grant proceedings and patent litigation matters. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Requirements J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Active membership in good standing of at least one state bar. Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. 3+ years of patent prosecution experience. Strong technical background in relevant fields. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and strategic thinking. Education J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Certifications Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Skills Strong technical background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related fields. Excellent communication skills.
