About this Job
The Division of Administrative Law is Louisiana's centralized administrative hearings panel. When disputes arise between certain state agencies and the people and entities they regulate, administrative law judges at DAL provide fair, prompt, and orderly adjudication. The Administrative Program Specialist A position is in the Health Section of DAL and is primarily responsible for coordinating and processing administrative hearings. This position requires a highly organized individual who can manage a high-volume caseload, prioritize competing deadlines, maintain accurate case records, and provide exceptional customer service while ensuring cases are processed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
- Coordinate and schedule administrative hearings for the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH).
- Process administrative appeals and maintain accurate, confidential case records.
- Prepare and distribute hearing notices, subpoenas, decisions, and other legal documents.
- Manage hearing calendars and coordinate schedules with Administrative Law Judges, attorneys, and agency representatives.
- Monitor case processing to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide customer service and respond to inquiries regarding administrative hearings and case status.
- Assist with workflow coordination, staff training, and resolving case processing issues.
- Prepare cases for hearings, provide technical support during hearings, and assist with administrative appeals as needed.
- Perform other related duties and serve as backup for key Health Section functions.
