Sr. Sports Marketing Coordinator - Team Sports

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Senior Sports Marketing Coordinator - Team Sports plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day execution of Skechers Performance athlete partnerships and sports marketing initiatives across Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer. Reporting to the Manager of Sports Marketing - Team Sports, this role works closely with athletes, agents, and internal teams to support day-to-day athlete needs, including product requests and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about sports, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while helping identify opportunities to strengthen Skechers’ presence across Team Sports.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Athlete Logistics, Seeding & Inventory Management

• Input, track, and manage all athlete and ambassador product orders from the distribution center to ensure timely delivery for games, events, and training needs.
• Maintain and organize the Team Sports promo sample storage room, performing weekly organization and conducting regular inventory audits of footwear and apparel.
• Coordinate directly with third-party partners to ensure photoshoot and custom items are correctly branded with partner logos and delivered prior to deadlines.
• Partner with the Manager of Sports Marketing - Team Sports on day-to-day communication with athlete agents, helping coordinate product needs, appearances, content opportunities, contractual deliverables, and other ongoing partnership needs.
• Maintain clear internal communication with Sports Marketing and Office Services regarding shipping status, package deliveries, and resolution of courier delays or issues.
• Oversee and update key operational documents, including Athlete Footwear/Apparel Tracking, Game Schedules, and Appearance Schedules.

Activation Support

• Assist in the planning, logistics, and execution of athlete photoshoots, appearances and clinics, and grassroots sports marketing initiatives.

• Coordinate event logistics, including athlete schedules, transportation, credentialing, call sheets, travel arrangements, and product requirements.

• Provide on-site administrative and operational support during select photoshoots, sporting events, athlete appearances, and other Sports Marketing activations.

• Support day-to-day grassroots partner relationships, helping ensure contractual obligations, including product delivery and event support, are successfully fulfilled.

Content, Social Media & PR Coordination

• Assist in the planning and coordination of contractual athlete social media posts and digital content opportunities.
• Liaise between athletes, agents, PR, Social, and Creative teams to ensure deliverables align with campaign timelines and brand guidelines.
• Collect, organize, and archive athlete digital assets, photos, videos, and collateral for internal marketing use.
• Monitor athlete social channels to identify organic opportunities to amplify Skechers partnerships.

Athlete Identification & Contract Management

• Research and evaluate prospective athletes and ambassadors who align with Skechers’ brand positioning and strategic growth targets.
• Establish preliminary connections with agents and potential athlete partners when appropriate.
• Track and monitor athlete contractual obligations, including content commitments, exclusivity, product usage, and appearance days.
• Maintain up-to-date contract records, flagging upcoming renewal dates and key contractual deadlines for management.

Other

• Coordinate and track athlete-related payments and invoices, including performance bonuses, charitable contributions, and other contractual payments, in partnership with the Finance Department.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Strategic Partnerships, Apparel, Creative, PR, and other internal teams to support athlete and Sports Marketing initiatives.
• Stay current on relevant athletes, teams, leagues, events, and cultural trends across Team Sports, identifying and flagging timely opportunities for the Sports Marketing team.
• Support additional Sports Marketing projects and initiatives across Team Sports and other Skechers Performance categories, as needed.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with 3–4 years of sports marketing, athlete management, brand marketing, or related experience.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook); experience with Adobe Creative Suite and proprietary inventory systems preferred.

• Social Media Knowledge: Deep understanding of current social platforms, including Instagram, X, TikTok, Snapchat, and Facebook.

• Communication & Organization: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

• Flexibility & Travel: Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules; light travel required.

• Sport Knowledge: Strong passion for sports, fitness, and performance, with a deep understanding of sports culture. Previous experience as an athlete or working within the sports industry is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $80,000-$90,000/yr USD.
