This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving innovation, aligning engineering initiatives with business objectives, and building a high-performing engineering organization.If you're a You'll DoStrategic Leadership & Technical VisionDevelop and execute the long-term engineering strategy, including product roadmap, innovation initiatives, and alignment with business goals such as growth, cost optimization, and reliability improvementsProvide executive-level technical leadership for new product development, enhancements, and customer-specific modificationsIdentify and implement new technologies, materials, and processes to improve product performance and competitivenessEstablish engineering standards, design guidelines, and best practices across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplinesProduct Design & DevelopmentLead the full product lifecycle—from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and production releaseEnsure all products are optimized for performance, manufacturability (DFM), cost, serviceability, and qualityOversee customer-driven modifications with strong configuration control and documentation practicesDirect design reviews, risk assessments, and validation testingTeam Leadership & DevelopmentBuild, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering team, including managers and individual contributorsDrive execution using structured planning and tracking tools (e.g., Jira)Balance priorities across new development, sustaining engineering, and customer requestsFoster a collaborative culture focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvementManufacturing & Operations SupportPartner with production teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and resolve manufacturing challengesDrive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and operationsTravel approximately 15–25% to support manufacturing sites and cross-functional collaborationCompliance, Quality & RegulatoryEnsure all products meet applicable standards and regulations (EPA, UL, ISO, NEC, CE, etc.)Maintain robust documentation, configuration management, and traceabilityProject & Operational ManagementOversee project timelines, deliverables, and engineering performance metricsManage department budget, headcount planning, and resource allocationTrack and improve key KPIs such as on-time delivery, quality, and engineering throughputCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Service, and FinanceServe as a key engineering representative in leadership discussions and company initiativesCollaborate with other engineering leaders to drive standardization and shared best practicesWhat You BringExperience & EducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field required (Master's or MBA preferred)10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 5–7 years in senior leadershipBackground in generator systems, power generation, or related industries (industrial equipment, energy systems, heavy equipment)Technical ExpertiseStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering principlesExperience with full product lifecycle, including design, validation, NPI, and production supportDeep understanding of DFM, DFA, and cost optimization strategiesFamiliarity with regulatory standards such as EPA, UL, ISO, NEC, and CELeadership & Business SkillsProven ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing engineering teamsStrong project and program management skills, with experience using tools like JiraFinancial acumen, including budget management and resource planningExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across
