Sample Coordinator

Sample Handling Assistant Join a dynamic team at a leading healthcare diagnostics and drug development company. As a Sample Handling Assistant, you will be responsible for the receipt and processing of irreplaceable clinical trial specimens, operating basic to moderate equipment, and ensuring data accuracy. This role supports the Sample Management team and is integral to the success of clinical trials. Responsibilities Receive shipments for the LPS/SM departments from different couriers and perform all related tasks. Resolve misrouted shipments and perform all related tasks. Open and clean inbound shipments. Ensure quality control of discarded material to prevent failures and report to management as needed. Maintain the temperature of specimens in their received condition. Scan shipments into the database. Follow standard procedures for sorting and routing samples to destination departments. Perform kit receipt process for inbound kits. Perform quality control of requisitions. Enter data of all patient information accurately. Essential Skills High School diploma and/or GED completion. At least 1 year of sample management or warehouse experience. Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work independently or in a team setting. Ability to lift 30+ lbs and handle dry ice. Proficient with computers, especially Microsoft Suite. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associates or Bachelor's degree in Life Science. Experience with specimen management. Experience with industrial freezers and dry ice. Familiarity with data entry and tracking processes. Work Environment The facility operates in a fast-paced environment, processing approximately 1000 samples per day. Shifts run from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The role involves mostly standing and walking, and while independent work is expected, collaboration with the team and management is necessary. Metrics must be met throughout each shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
