Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: USVETS Phoenix - Phoenix, AZ 85012, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: Not Specified, Salary Range: $28.86 - $35.00 Hourly, Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services, About the Role The Facility Coordinator oversees the day-to-day facility and housing operations for U.S.VETS project-based and scattered-site housing. This role ensures housing units meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards while coordinating maintenance, inspections, landlord relationships, lease-up activities, and resident needs. The Facility Coordinator also supervises facility staff and helps maintain a safe, well-managed environment for veterans. What You’ll Do Facility & Housing Operations Oversee the condition, safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of U.S.VETS housing units. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with HUD Housing Quality Standards (HQS), OSHA, fire safety, and applicable housing regulations. Coordinate move-ins, move-outs, unit turnover, repairs, maintenance requests, and preventative maintenance. Establish maintenance schedules, manage work orders, and maintain accurate facility, equipment, and property records. Coordinate lease-up activities, landlord negotiations, lease agreements, and housing databases in partnership with the Operations Manager. Identify facility needs, develop cost estimates, and work with leadership to prioritize expenditures within budget. Team Leadership & Compliance Supervise facility staff and ensure adherence to policies, safety standards, and performance expectations. Train staff on facility maintenance, safety procedures, emergency preparedness, and operational standards. Develop and maintain preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs. Maintain required OSHA, fire safety, and facility-related certifications. Lead and actively participate in the Health & Safety Committee. Monitor program and facility activities to ensure compliance with established policies and standards. Resident & Community Relations Work with residents to address housing-related concerns, unit responsibilities, repairs, and property standards. Facilitate resident meetings and help resolve concerns or conflicts in a professional and timely manner. Build relationships with landlords, community providers, volunteers, and supportive service organizations. Partner with the Volunteer and Veteran Activities Coordinator to support resident activities, volunteers, and community engagement. Maintain information on available community and supportive services for residents. Budget & Reporting Assist with facility maintenance budgets, expenditure tracking, cost estimates, and equipment recommendations. Maintain accurate records and prepare technical, operational, and statistical reports. Monitor facility goals, identify operational needs, and recommend improvements to policies and procedures. Qualifications: What You Bring Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in facility management, property management, housing operations, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a related field. Two years of employment with U.S.VETS may substitute for supervisory experience. Experience with housing quality standards, facility maintenance, safety compliance, property operations, or landlord relations. Experience working with veterans and/or individuals experiencing homelessness preferred. Strong leadership, problem-solving, organization, and conflict management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, take direction, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with staff, residents, landlords, and community partners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based systems. Demonstrated personal and financial integrity. Valid driver’s license required.
