Senior Accountant – General Ledger

Position Summary

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the General Ledger team. This role will support the monthly close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial results.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned general ledger accounts and prepare monthly account reconciliations.

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, reclasses, and intercompany transactions.

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.

• Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.

• Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for significant fluctuations.

• Manage intercompany reconciliations and resolve differences.

• Support bank and payment reconciliations and other balance sheet account analyses.

• Assist with financial reporting, audits, and SOX/internal control requirements.

• Research accounting issues and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 4 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting experience preferred.

• Strong general ledger and month-end close experience.

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and account reconciliation.

• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems such as SAP and/or BlackLine preferred.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.
