Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support payroll processing for union and prevailing wage construction projects. This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 6 months of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience who is looking to grow their career in payroll. The role involves reviewing employee timecards, entering payroll information, maintaining records, and assisting with payroll reporting in a team-oriented environment.

• Enter and review employee payroll information for accuracy
• Process employee timecards and track hours worked
• Support payroll processing for union employees and construction projects
• Maintain payroll records, employee files, and supporting documentation
• Assist with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage projects
• Review deductions, garnishments, and other payroll-related information
• Respond to employee payroll questions and requests
• Assist with payroll audits and payroll record reconciliation
• Support quarter-end and year-end payroll activities as needed
• Work within payroll systems such as ADP, SAP, or similar software
• Partner with the payroll team to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time

• 6+ months of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, administrative, or data entry experience
• Basic understanding of payroll processes preferred
• Experience working with Excel and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Experience with ADP, SAP, or other payroll software is a plus
• Union payroll, prevailing wage, or certified payroll experience is a plus but not required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday

Location: Farmingdale, NY (Hybrid after training)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmingdale, NY.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.80/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
