Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on the unique needs of individuals, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities to drive client engagement and progress.

• Monitor progress throughout treatment and adjust plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
\n
• Document all client interactions accurately in electronic health records, utilizing platforms such as AVATAR for effective case management.
\n
• Provide psychoeducation and support to clients and their families, assisting them in navigating the complexities of mental health and behavioral challenges.
\n
• Remain informed on current developments in psychotherapy and mental health practices to inform treatment approaches and interventions.
\n
• Address crises as they arise, utilizing skills to de-escalate situations and provide immediate support to clients in need.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Westside Counseling Services, you will work with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide range of mental health challenges. These may include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and behavioral disorders. Your approach will be client-centered, adapting your strategies to foster trust and effectively engage each individual in their recovery journey.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, LCSW-C is mandatory in the state of Kansas.
\n
• Successful completion of National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.
\n
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on empathy and active listening.
\n
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health diagnostics, applicable laws, and ethical guidelines.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience providing mental health counseling.
\n
• Experience working with various mental and emotional health conditions, including addiction and dual diagnosis.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association to enhance service delivery.

• Knowledge of medications commonly prescribed for mental health issues and their implications.

Compensation and Benefits\n
