This contract role focuses primarily on self-contained elementary classrooms, with additional needs across high school settings. This is an onsite position for the upcoming academic year, running from August 6, 2026, through May 27, 2027. Onsite interviews will be conducted prior to placement.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education (Ex Ed) licensure for Alabama is required; verify credentials via the ALSDE portal.
• For elementary roles: K-6 certification is required; for secondary: 6-12 certification.
• Experience or strong interest in self-contained classroom settings is highly valued.
• Ability to manage caseloads of 4-10 students with varying disabilities and IQ ranges.
• Adaptability to support either elementary or high school populations as prioritized by the district’s needs.
• Previous experience in comparable educational settings preferred.

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and implement IEPs for students in self-contained classrooms.
• Foster a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment tailored to unique student needs.
• Collaborate with school personnel and families to promote student growth and inclusion.
• Maintain accurate records, including progress monitoring and compliance reports.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings.
