Exciting opportunity for an experienced Special Education Teacher seeking to make a real difference in a unique learning environment! This contract position focuses on supporting a small caseload of approximately 7 students enrolled in a virtual school program that operates out of the district office near Birmingham, AL. You’ll enjoy the chance to collaborate closely with the Special Education Director while delivering direct, onsite services to students in need.

Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid State licensure as a Special Education Teacher is required
• Proven experience in virtual, hybrid, or alternative school environments is strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills and comfort with technology tools
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a district team
• Previous experience managing IEPs and adapting curriculum to a broad range of learning profiles

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite support and instruction for a caseload of up to 7 students within the virtual school program
• Embrace flexible scheduling, with 10–20 hours per week of dedicated service
• Collaborate with the Special Education Director to craft and monitor effective student plans
• Ensure compliance with all IEP, district, and state requirements
• Maintain accurate records and communication with district, parents, and related service providers
